Varsity Girls Soccer completes historic season and competes in Sectionals, eight players receive All-League honors

Congratulations to the Mount Vernon Varsity Girls Soccer team on a historic 2025 season! Under the leadership of Coaches Jay Concepcion and Eldon Morales Jr., the Knights earned 8 victories—7 more than last season and the most wins the program has seen in nearly two decades. For the first time in 19 years, Mount Vernon qualified for the Triple-A Sectionals Tournament, showcasing the incredible growth and dedication of the team.

Although the Knights fell to Scarsdale in the opening round, the season was nothing short of remarkable. Anchored by standout goalkeeper/defender Blanquita Valladares and a disciplined back line that recorded 4 shutouts, and powered by star striker Brianna Alves, who netted an impressive 19 goals, the team demonstrated heart, grit, and unity every step of the way. Eight players earned All-League honors—Brianna Alves, Janiel Anderson, Madyson Powell, Emily Ramos, Kimberly Ramos, Priscilla Santillan, Blanca Valladares, and Hawa Massaquoi—an achievement voted on by coaches across the league and a true reflection of Mount Vernon’s resurgence as a competitive force. A season to remember by a phenomenal group of young ladies.
