Hamilton School welcomes families for Dads Take Your Child to School Day

This Tuesday, Hamilton School proudly hosted Dads Take Your Child to School Day, a special event recognizing the vital role that fathers and father figures play in a child’s education and overall development. Whether it’s a dad, brother, grandfather, uncle, cousin, or close family friend, the presence and support of male role models make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students.

The morning was a great success, with a full house in the cafeteria, where the parent liaisons provided a fantastic breakfast spread for all who attended. The energy and turnout demonstrated the strong community spirit and commitment to student success.

The highlight of the event was a powerful and heartfelt address by Mount Vernon’s own Mr. Ralph Burts. He spoke passionately about the importance of being present and actively involved in a child’s life. Reflecting on his own experiences growing up in Mount Vernon, Mr. Burts shared insights on setting high expectations for our youth, preparing for the transition to middle and high school, and supporting students to grow into successful young men and women.

Hamilton School thanks all the fathers and father figures who came out to support this important initiative. Your involvement makes a lasting impact.

Junior Achievement Career Speaker Series inspires Hamilton students

Sixth-graders at Hamilton School received an inside look at a variety of career paths when the school hosted Junior Achievement’s Career Speaker Series.Coordinated by school counselor Toni Ann Trombetta and Caroline Tzelios, Senior Programs Manager for Junior Achievement, the event connected students with professionals from several fields who shared their career journeys, educational backgrounds and workplace experiences.

Mindful minds, healthy hearts! 💙 Fifth and sixth grade students at Hamilton School explored wellness through aromatherapy, bubble breathing, and interactive mindfulness stations designed to promote relaxation, positivity, and self-care during the Wellness Fair last week!

Law Day at Hamilton School: Inspiring the next Generation of Leaders

Law was in order at Hamilton School, as fifth and sixth grade students got a glimpse into paralegal careers, civic responsibility and leadership from Corporation Counsel Brian Johnson, Esq. and The Honorable Judge Tamika Coverdale. This event was in honor of Law Day, centering around the theme: “The Rule of Law and the American Dream.”

Fraction fun fills the hallways at Hamilton School

As state testing approaches, third-grade students at Hamilton School are sharpening their skills in creative ways, stepping beyond the classroom to bring learning to life. In classes led by Julie-Ann Barbuto/Alfredo Riullano and Flavia Garufi/Wendy Lang, students recently turned their second-floor hallway into an interactive learning space as part of their fractions unit.

Hamilton families play educational games at Math Night

Hamilton families enjoyed an educational night of fun during Math Night last Thursday! Families joined their children in playing math games and had the opportunity to enter raffles for prizes as well. The event was hosted by Parent Liaison Maura Gutierrez alongside Hamilton teachers who volunteered to help make the event a success for the families.
